The Green Den is a branch of Green Play Project, specialist natural play designers with many years experience supplying the education sector. Green Play Project have been designing and installing playgrounds for over 10 years from our Bristol workshop made from sustainably sourced UK timber including sweet chestnut, green oak and larch. We understand the education sector’s needs and have developed a range of products that are attractive and natural whilst being at the same time really practical and hard wearing.
At The Green Den we have a team of experienced craftspeople that make educational play equipment from welly stores to outdoor classrooms from sustainably sourced timber designed to support and enhance the outdoor curriculum or play strategy.
We believe that planting and habitats in playgrounds are beneficial as they create a greener and more attractive space, and also adds to the biodiversity and positive environmental impact. It creates a wild environment for children to play, and an unstructured natural space that lends its self to all sorts of positive interactions. Through Biophilic design, a sustainable design strategy that connects people with the natural environment, we hope to positively support not only the physical but also the mental health of the people using our spaces.
By mixing play theory with habitat creation and sustainably led construction techniques we like to think our approach not only benefits children but the wider environment.
